Most functional testing is ordered in isolation — a gut test here, a hormone test there — and interpreted in isolation. The clinical picture that matters is the one where the results talk to each other. GI-MAP beta-glucuronidase connects to oestrogen metabolism. OAT oxalate markers connect to candida overgrowth visible on the GI-MAP. Food sensitivity reactions are read alongside the gut immune markers. This package is built around that connection — three tests chosen because they answer each other's questions.
Test 01 · Gut Microbiome
GI-MAP
The most comprehensive stool analysis available in the UK market. Identifies pathogenic bacteria, parasites, candida and fungal overgrowth, H. pylori, viral markers, intestinal immune markers, digestive enzyme output. The clinical foundation of the package.
67 markers · DNA-based PCR testing · Diagnostic Solutions Lab · Results 10–14 days
£335
Test 02 · Immune Reactivity
Food Sensitivity Panel (IgG, 286 foods)
IgG-mediated reactivity to over 200 foods. Identifies the delayed immune responses — typically occurring 4–72 hours after exposure — that drive chronic bloating, systemic inflammation, brain fog, and joint pain without producing the immediate reaction of a true allergy. Finger-prick home collection.
286 foods tested · IgG antibody measurement · Results 10–14 days
£310
Test 03 · Cellular Function
Organic Acids Test (OAT)
A first-morning urine test that measures the metabolic byproducts of cellular processes — mitochondrial energy production, neurotransmitter metabolism, B vitamin status, detoxification capacity, oxalate load (directly connected to candida), and oxidative stress markers. The deepest single-test picture of how cells are actually functioning.
76 markers · First morning urine · Great Plains Laboratory · Results 14–21 days
£324
Why these three tests specifically
They answer each other's questions
The reason this combination works as a package rather than three separate tests is that the findings from each test directly illuminate findings in the others. A candida overgrowth on the GI-MAP explains elevated oxalates on the OAT. A disrupted microbiome explains elevated beta-glucuronidase, which explains hormonal symptoms that have nothing to do with hormone production. Gut immune markers give context to a broad food sensitivity result. You cannot fully interpret one without the context the others provide.
GI-MAP → OAT connection
Candida overgrowth on GI-MAP produces oxalic acid — confirmed on OAT oxalate markers. One finding explains the other.
GI-MAP → Food Sensitivity connection
A strained gut barrier is one proposed reason for broad IgG reactivity. It is a hypothesis: no test in this package measures permeability.
OAT → Clinical picture connection
Mitochondrial markers, B vitamin status, and neurotransmitter metabolites explain fatigue, brain fog, and mood that gut testing alone cannot account for.
Food Sensitivity → Protocol connection
Knowing which specific foods are driving immune activation allows the elimination phase to be precise rather than a broad restrictive guess.
What's included — the full clinical process
01
Intake & History Consultation
60-minute session covering your full clinical history, symptom timeline, diet history, medication and supplement use, and the specific questions each test will be designed to answer. Test kits ordered and posted to you following this session.
02
Combined Results & Protocol Session
75-90 minute session once all three results are in. The GI-MAP, food sensitivity panel, and OAT are interpreted together — not as three separate conversations but as one integrated clinical picture. A written protocol is provided following this session covering dietary modifications, supplement recommendations, lifestyle sequencing, and monitoring plan.
03
6-8 Week Follow-Up Review
45-minute review session at 6-8 weeks to assess protocol response, adjust recommendations based on what has and hasn't shifted, and confirm the next phase. Follow-ups are not optional — they are where the clinical value compounds.
The FDN Clinical Framework
This package is built on the Functional Diagnostic Nutrition methodology developed by Reed Davis — the framework that identifies hidden stressors and healing opportunities through objective functional testing rather than symptom-led guesswork. The principle is straightforward: test, don't guess. Order the tests that will reveal the underlying dysfunction, interpret the findings in the context of the whole person, then build a protocol that addresses the causes rather than managing the consequences. The three-test package is the gut and cellular expression of that principle — the tests that most consistently reveal why someone feels the way they do when standard investigation has found nothing.
